Description
I am using Ubuntu 14.04 on a Lenovo Thinkpad Twist (Convertible with touch screen) and have several touch problems. I list them all here as I am not sure which ones are caused by X and which ones by the app. Please tell me which log files you need.
Here are the problems:
-
Pinch-to-zoom does not work in the image viewer, only drag-to-scroll works.
-
When one opens the menu of Chromium (button in the upper-right corner) via touch, the menu does not work via touch.
-
3-finger tap (on any app) does not show the buttons for manipulation of the window.
-
I cannot do a right-click without using the emulation in the on-screen keyboard Onboard. It would be great to be able to do right-click by long-pressing, as under Android.
-
Open a terminal and a file manager (Nautilus) window. Move the windows so that Nautilus is half over the terminal, having a column of file icons in the Nautilus exactly over the scrollbar of the terminal. Then tap one of these file icons and at least sometimes instead of the file icon getting selected the terminal is pulled to the front. Seems that sometimes the tap gets to the terminal which is behind the Nautilus and not to the Nautilus which is in front. Overlay scrollbars are turned off.
-
GTK drop-downs for choosing one of a few choices for an option (like single-sided or double-sided printing) work perfectly in system-config-printer or from the GTK print dialog when printing from evince (these drop-downs have one small black down triangle on the right) but do not work with touch (work only with the mouse) in the GTK print dialog when printing from Chromium (these drop-downs have TWO smaller gray triangles on the right). Perhaps this problem and the one of Chromiums menu have the same origin. Seems that Chromium uses another library for these widgets than most other apps (like evince).

In Chromium the tabs can be operated normally, one can click them and re-order them and no tab stays sticking to the mouse pointer, but once having touched the tabs, the main area which displays the page complete freezes. One cannot scroll the page any more and tapping another tab does not switch to the selected page.
8 In Software Center the top bar buttons do not work. Tapping them highlights them, but the content in the main area does not switch. The content only switches when clicking with a mouse. The drop-downs in the top bar do not open by tapping, only by clicking with a mouse.
-
Pinch-to-zoom does not work in evince, neither zooming in nor zooming out. Drag-to-scroll works though.
-
In the gallery-app you can only zoom in and not zoom out by pnch-to-zoom. Drag-to-scroll works here, too.
-
Pinch-to-zoom does also not work in Chromium.
