On a Thinkpad A30P xorg 7.1 starts up in different resolutions if hard (1600x1200) or soft (800x600) rebooted.

Description
Hi
I have a number of A30P Thinkpads with ATI M6 LY built in graphics cards.
I am in the process of upgrading to Fedora Core 6 when I came across this weird
problem. If the Thinkpad is soft rebooted it restarts in (800x600) resolution,
if powered down and hard rebooted it comes up in full (1600x1200) resolution.
This is a repeatable problem on two different machines (both A30P's).
I can attach the two xorg.0.log files if you want them. The difference appears to be that in the soft reboot while the 2nd monitor isn't detected (there isn't a 2nd monitor so that's right) the soft reboot uses the 'default HSync and VRefresh' values, in a hard reboot the 2nd monitor isn't detected and 'MergedFB/ Clone mode is disabled'.
I just hard reboot the machines now if I need to do something specific, however as these are running as mini servers it would be nice to fix the problem in case there is a genuine reset problem.
