Buggy layout toggling

Description
I have three layouts: US, RU and LV.
With grp:alt_shift_toggle, I can use any combination of Alt and Shift without issues, except when holding any Shift and pressing Right Alt while on LV. Once I'm on LV, I can't toggle with combinations which involve Right Alt, regardless of which key I press first / hold. However, I can get unstuck with Left Alt, and then continue toggling, even with Right Alt.
With grp:rctrl_rshift_toggle, I can toggle by holding Right Shift and pressing Right Ctrl, but not the other way around.
With grp:win_space_toggle (my desired combo), I can't toggle from RU or LV, it just types a space character.
There are probably other problems in this department, but these are the only ones I've tried. This is on NixOS (X Server 1.18.4), but I'm fairly certain that at least grp:win_space_toggle didn't work on Ubuntu and Debian either. I know I'm not running the latest version, but I've checked the changelog of 1.19, and there's nothing indicating that this has been addressed in any way.
