Black display chunks/flickering in Firefox with Modesetting on intel i915 4th gen

Description
Created attachment 133289 Video of the display issue
I have some black display chunks/flickering in firefox with the modesetting driver on a desktop computer. It happens when typing into the search or URL bar. It's sometimes blinking. See attached video "xorg-modesetting_flickering_bug.mp4" and "Xorg.0.log"
There is no such issue with fbdev driver
Firefox uses GTK3 and has : HW_COMPOSITING : blocked by default: Acceleration blocked by platform OPENGL_COMPOSITING : unavailable by default: Hardware compositing is disabled WEBRENDER : unavailable by runtime: Build doesn't include WebRender
System is Debian 9 (stretch) with xserver-xorg-core 1.19.2-1+deb9u1 firefox 54.0 (but also confirmed in firefox-esr 45.9.0esr-1~deb9u1)
