Monitor turns off during video playback with mpv 0.29 running on Xwayland

I use xwayland 1.20.4 on Arch Linux.

My monitor turns off during video playback with mpv 0.29 running on Xwayland. Such problem does not occur on X11 session and it happens on two computers. Computer A runs Arch Linux + Gnome 3.32, computer B runs Arch Linux + KDE Plasma 5.15.3.

First reported to mpv devs

https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/6506

mpv dev wrote:

"Then file a bug against xdg-screensaver and possibly XWayland. Power management inhibition is incredibly messy, which is why we delegate that work to an external program in the first place. Every DE uses and supports different interfaces for that."

Reported to xdg-utils

xdg/xdg-utils#144 (closed)

xdg-utils dev wrote:

"As far as i'm aware xdg-utils doesn't do any form of power management, I believe this is generally done by individual desktops and or the application directly and is not a bug for xdg-util"

Reported to Gnome devs

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/516

Jonas Adahl wrote:

"As there is nothing actionable here, I'll close this bug. It's not a mutter specific issue, but an issue with Xwayland and screen saver inhibition techniques used by X11 clients not being applicable when the X11 server is not the main display server."
