Error installing Linux on Chromebook
Hi, Ive been wanting to convert my chromebook to Linux and decided to sit down and try it. I can get all the way down to starting Linux with "sudo startxfce4" to which it runs a couple lines, goes black, then reverts back to where I started with the code failing. Ive narrowed down the problem to a line that says "Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.chromium.LibCrossService was not provided by any .service files" then some other code which i think was essentially aborting and reverting back to chrome OS. I would love some help trouble shooting this, and i have gone to multiple websites to try to download a proper crouton/Ubuntu dowload and deleted the previous tying again but both times it failed with the same error. I used laptopmag's site link and lifehacker.com's link. Both failed in the same way. I went to https://wiki.x.org to try to troubleshoot in the forums but didnt see any previous threads that seemed to exhibit my issue. So i am starting my own thread now in the hope of recieving any help. Really, any help would be fantastic, thanks for your time, Brogan
