systemd code breaks switching between console and a running X-session

systemd-logind vanishes on switching from console to X: (EE) systemd-logind disappeared (stopped/restarted?)

see attached Xorg.1.log for more elaborate logging.

here is how to reproduce this:

have getty or systemd-consoled running on, say, tty1. i'm calling this your console.
have X running on, say, tty12
swtich from your console to X and back to console.
trying to swtich from console to X no freezes the dispaly.

i have tested this on intel video card. let me know if you need more specs.

commenting this in /etc/pam.d/system-auth: #session required pam_systemd.so

hints at pam_systemd being the culprit.
