No external video output after suspend on Intel Xe Graphics (TGL GT2)

On a Lenovo X1 Nano using

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Device [8086:9a40] (rev 01)

xrandr shows an external output if plugged in. However as soon as enabling it and suspending the device, no external outputs are visible anymore.

I have attached an xorg.0.log from a case after which it does not appear anymore.Xorg.0.log

This has been the case with various kernels, including 5.15.0.

Currently I am using the modesetting driver, but I recall I had the same behaviour with the intel driver.

Is there any kernel command line or xorg option to fix this behaviour?

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
