Team Euclid participated in the Fall 2011/Winter 2012 CS capstone course at PSU. As part of this course, they were mentored by 3 X.org developers to develop the groundwork for what will become XQuartz 3.0 and hopefully future versions of XWin, XWayland, and similarly aimed projects.
Their work focused on creating a library (libcompositewm) which used XCB to communicate with an Xorg server running a dummy video driver. This library abstracted away details making it easier to implement a compositing window manager which displayed the X windows inside of native windows. The students developed such a client on OS X which uses this library to render X11 windows into native NSWindows (part of OS X's native APIs).
This bug report is tracking the migration of the students' code from github into a freedesktop.org repository, setting the students up with freedesktop.org accounts with write access to xcb and xorg repositories, giving them sufficient bugzilla permissions, and any other administrivia that I may be forgetting off the top of my head with respect to this transition. This report itself has no action items other than to serve as an umbrella for other bugs that will be filed soon.
