Separation of libX11's locale data
For reference, I refer to the problem described in this bug (Gentoo): The compose-tables provided by libX11 are valid and important beyond libX11 itself (e.g. for pure Wayland systems). GTK uses an internal, hardcoded implementation. About Qt I don't know. But I think most would agree that libX11 can be considered an authoritative reference on compose tables.
It would therefore be nice, if said locale data could be compiled/generated independently of libX11. In above bug, I made an ad-hoc hack to
configure to only generate the compose tables and could easily
make just the latter. I hope it would be equally easy to introduce a switch which allows every distro to do this with upstream's blessing (if I had even the faintest clue of autotools, I'd come up with PR but, alas, I don't).
