I have a server board with the XGI Volari Z9M chipset:
06:02.0 VGA compatible controller: XGI Technology Inc. (eXtreme Graphics Innovation) Volari Z9M
I tried the XGI driver from Git, and after fixing the build failures mentioned in bug #22513, I managed to build and install the driver. While this driver does seem to do a better job than the VESA driver, it still has several problems:
* Without additional configuration, it fails to do any better than 800x600 on my VX2235wm LCD.
* With an explicit HorizSync and VertRefresh in the Monitor section, it consents to do higher resolutions. However, it does not offer my LCD's native resolution.
