[Matrox G400 102b:0525] (EE) open /dev/dri/card0: No such file or directory (Xorg fails to run with cmdline option vga= on vttys; except vga=normal works)
downstream bug created 2019-07-31: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25205
(EE) highlights from typical Xorg.0.log: [ 116.801] (EE) open /dev/dri/card0: No such file or directory [ 116.845] (EE) MGA(0): Unable to map Framebuffer F8000000 2000000. Invalid argument (22) [ 116.887] (EE) MGA(0): Unable to detect video RAM. [ 116.887] (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration. [ 116.887] (EE) [ 116.888] (EE) no screens found(EE)
To reproduce: 1-include any valid VGA= mode other than normal on kernel cmdline
Actual result: 1-X won't start
Expected result: 1-X runs normally
Comments: 1-without vga= something on cmdline, vttys are all confined to painfully limiting 80x25 mode 2-only 32-bit arches tested 3-Same apparent problem in Debian 10 & 11 as in Mageia 7 & 8 4-Cannot replicate problem in openSUSE Tumbleweed, as mga DDX won't load due to undefined symbol
Mageia 8: Xorg.0.log (fail)
Tumbleweed: Xorg.0.logT
