Feature Request: disable hardware buttons, but not tapping
Hi, didn't find a better way to ask for a new feature, so I hope it's ok to do here.
There seem to be many people, including me, looking for a way to disable hardware buttons above or under a laptops touchpad, while still keeping the tapping stuff. You will find some threads and even a bug report for Ubuntu with that question. It can be helpful e.g. to avoid accidental clicks while typing which often happens for me on my new laptop. I had the same problem with accidental taps due to the huge new touchpad, but that could be solved with the AreaLeftEdge/AreaRightEdge options easily.
The synaptics driver seems to be able to distinguish between hardware clicks and taps as far as I understand the options about TapButtons etc.
So would it be possible to add an option to disable hardware buttons independent from dis-/enabling the tap functionality?
