Smooth Touchpad Scrolling Under XWayland

Hi, I don't feel particularly confident that I'm in the right place for this, but I'm trying to use a program running under XWayland. I'm finding that the touchpad now scrolls using discrete jumps rather than the smooth scrolling seen in other programs - am I missing something? I see support for high resolution scroll wheels has been implemented via https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=libinput-1.19, does this extend to touchpads running under xwayland. Thanks for any help!
