hyper+tab not working for window switching
Hello, I initially thought this might be an issue with Gnome, but it seems to be the same in Xfce. Is it possible that this is an underlying issue? I've tried a large number of posts to various forums (see list of links here https://github.com/bjohas/Ubuntu-keyboard-map-like-OS-X) as well as IRC, and it would be amazing if somebody could help.
I have set up a Hyper key on the keyboard. It works fine for keyboard shortcuts and seems to be ok when checked with xev. However, applying these settings doesn't work (example from Gnome):
org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-windows ['<Hyper>Tab']
org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-windows-backward ['<Hyper><Shift>Tab']
Same when using Hyper for (gnome) switch-applications and cycle-windows - that also doesn't work.
However, when e.g. Super or Alt is used, all combinations work as expected.
What does Hyper not work? Is this a bug in gnome or an issue with another system component?
(This is on Ubuntu 19.04.)
It would be absolutely amazing if somebody had an answer to this, or any idea as to where the problem might be.
