Way to enable VRR in DRM Kernel Module (FreeSync)
Hello, I use the Linux 5.0 kernel with a wayland session.
In Xorg I could set the option Option "VariableRefresh" "true"
in the 10-amdgpu.conf file.
Launching Linux with drm.debug=0x04
and then dmesg | grep -i freesync
gives this output when FreeSync is enabled in DriConf:
[ 8.150793] [drm:update_freesync_state_on_stream.isra.20 [amdgpu]] VRR packet update: crtc=47 enabled=0 state=2
[ 8.150849] [drm:update_freesync_state_on_stream.isra.20 [amdgpu]] VRR timing update: crtc=47 min=1125 max=1125
[ 13.121590] [drm:update_freesync_state_on_stream.isra.20 [amdgpu]] VRR packet update: crtc=47 enabled=1 state=3
[ 13.121652] [drm:update_freesync_state_on_stream.isra.20 [amdgpu]] VRR timing update: crtc=47 min=1144 max=5719
[ 13.132836] [drm:update_freesync_state_on_stream.isra.20 [amdgpu]] VRR timing update: crtc=47 min=1144 max=5719
[ 13.201700] [drm:update_freesync_state_on_stream.isra.20 [amdgpu]] VRR timing update: crtc=47 min=1144 max=5719
[ 14.441200] [drm:update_freesync_state_on_stream.isra.20 [amdgpu]] VRR timing update: crtc=47 min=1144 max=5719
[ 15.305910] [drm:update_freesync_state_on_stream.isra.20 [amdgpu]] VRR timing update: crtc=47 min=1144 max=5719
...
On wayland though it says enabled=0. I wanted to ask if there is a possibility to activate this in wayland already? or is this functionality not a wayland issue? Thanks
