Clock skew

In weston 8 I see in the upper right corner of the screen a clock, showing weekday, month, date, hours, minutes AM/PM. When I type date the system shows the same. However, the minute components of date shows one number more, than the minute component of weston. E.g. for

$ date
Sat May  9 11:14:23 GMT 2020

weston’s clock shows Sat May 09, 11:13 AM.
