Please delete the master branch

The master branch is more than 2 years out of date and people still find links to it, which means they don't read current protocol documentation. (Yes, I'm filing that because I just had an IRC discussion with someone who was going by old docs).

In particular, Google returns links to the master branch - at least for me.
