`cool` should not be considered a power saver profile
Tell me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the cool profile try to keep the system as cool as possible, meaning it overheats less and the CPU can boost more. So with that logic, why is it considered a power saver profile?
The original problem that led me here is, that I wanted to set the gnome power mode to Power Saver
, contrary to what I expected this spun up the fans to the maximum. After digging some more, I found out that power-profiles-daemon
sets the cool
profile for this (only cool
, balanced
and performance
are available for my system).
