QXL driver causes BSOD on suspending a Windows XP guest
Hi,
I came across a problem with QXL driver on Windows XP guest created using "virt-manager". I get BSOD on most of the trials to wake up a suspended virtual machine. After multiple installations of the Windows XP guest in different versions the issue persisted on every instance and occured only after installation of the QXL driver (I have tested versions qxl-0.1-19, qxl-0.1-21). Without this driver suspending works properly. Changing chipset to Q35 did not help. Tested versions of the Windows XP:
- Polish Windows XP Home with SP3,
- Polish Windows XP Professional with SP3,
- Polish Windows XP Professional VLK with SP2,
- Polish Windows XP Professional VLK with SP3,
- English Windows XP Professional with SP3.
If it is necessary to provide more information on the error (logs, XP's minidumps, etc.) I will provide it, however, due to my limited experience in this matter, it may be necessary to point out a specific type or method of access to this information.
I have also asked about the problem on 2019-02-19 on IRC #spice but due to my limited knowledge in this matter I have not investigated this problem much more than since then.
Best regards,
