on ubuntu 16.04 i don't get sound at system startup. I have weird workaround using speaker test. sequence of events is:
- system start up - no sound 1.1) same result if i open a new application
- run speakertest -c 6 -D pulse in a terminal --> i get sound
- play mp3 with VLC(or any other application) --> i get sound
- click on next track --> no sound for next track
- run speakertest -c 6 -D pulse --> no sound. keep it running in terminal
- pause playback in vlc
- speakertest form (5) starts working after pause in (6)
- play in VLC --> sould from speakertest (7) and (8) plays
- ctrl-c in terminal running speakertest (7). VLC audio keeps working
VLC/Spotify/kodi/etc will work as far as i don't press "next track". to start any application i need to run this sequence of events. maybe there is somethign simplre that i haven't found.
