Working ALSA but pulseaudio did not recognize the sound card (Failed to find a working profile) HP-ZBook 15 G6 with ALC285
Missing data may cause bugs to languish.
Alsa is working without problems but pulseaudio is not able to load the card. The error in syslog is
pulseaudio: Failed to find a working profile. pulseaudio: Failed to load module "module-alsa-card" (argument: "device_id="0" name="pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-skl_hda_dsp_generic" card_name="alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-skl_hda_dsp_generic" namereg_fail=false tsched=yes fixed_latency_range=no ignore_dB=no deferred_volume=yes use_ucm=yes avoid_resampling=no card_properties="module-udev-detect.discovered=1""): initialization failed.
Nevertheless, sinks and sources can be loaded successfully by using
load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,0 load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,7 or hw:0,6
pa-info.txt is attached
Steps to reproduce
Install debian unstable (kernel 5.9.x or kernel 5.10.x) on an HP Zbook 15 G6, boot and try to use audio.
What is the current bug behavior?
Without explicit loading module-alsa-sink and module-alsa-source neither a sound-card nor sinks or sources are detected.
What is the expected correct behavior?
Card, sinks, sources and profile shall be detected correctly.
