USB Webcam audio input gets auto-selected as default on boot
Summary
I have HD Pro Webcam C920 connected via USB. It is permanently connected to the PC, including when the PC boots. Upon startup, PulseAudio automatically selects this device as the default input device, even if I previously selected a different device as the default.
I suspect, this happens as a result of the hot plug handling.
Environment
Kubuntu 20.10 PulseAudio 13.99.2
Steps to reproduce
- Have a USB Webcam connected. This may not be specific to a webcam, it may reproduce with other USB audio devices.
- Select a different device as the default input device in pavucontrol.
- Reboot.
- Start pavucontrol and look which input device is the default.
What is the current bug behavior?
The USB device is selected as the default.
What is the expected correct behavior?
The device that was manually selected should remain the default.
