pdftocairo -svg gives me the wrong canvas size

Description

Created attachment 101112 The figure to be converted.

The media box of the attached PDF is 250 250. pdftocairo writes it down as 250pt 250pt. Embedding the resulting drawing into HTML gives me scroll bars that show that the embedded object is twice as large as the drawing itself. Changing the units to px in a text editor fixes the problem.
