Can not display PDF from docusign. Reports 0 pages. Fixed between 20.09 and 21.01

The attached PDF can not be opened by:

  • pdfarranger (Using poppler via Python)
  • Evince (Gnome Document Viewer)
  • Inkscape
  • Gimp
  • LibreOffice Draw
  • Okular

It can be opened by:

  • mupdf
  • Firefox

DemoDoc_NDA.pdf

I'm contributor and package maintainer of pdfarranger and trying to debug this, I noticed that get_n_pages() returns 0 for this PDF. Here is a minimal example in Python: poppler-test.py (It displays the number of pages for all PDFs in current directory.)

The issues are gone after some modification, e.g. rotating the page with qpdf: rotatetest.pdf
