plymouth clears/reset scrollback on serial console
When I'm following boot with virsh console
most of the early boot is cleared from scrollback, as if a serial console clear or reset command (?) was sent.
If I boot with plymouth.enable=0
this doesn't happen so I'm pretty sure plymouth is doing it, and I'm hoping it's inadvertent because it's making early boot problems harder to troubleshoot.
Attached is a capture of virsh console
boot scroll using script. The file is 68K, but cat the file in GNOME Terminal, there's nothing above
[ OK ] Started plymouth-start.service - Show Plymouth Boot Screen.
And yet a hexdump of the file shows quite a lot before that. So there's something in the stream that's telling the local terminal to clear/reset.
