volume changes immediately revert, triggered by plugging and unplugging headphones
The core issue is that when I change the volume using pactl, it immediately changes back to the old volume. Same for muting/unmuting.
Killing the pipewire dameon with systemctl --user stop pipewire
fixes the issue temporarily. When I unplug and replug in my headphones several times, the issue re-manifests and continues as long as I keep the same pipewire instance.
Here are logs of my unplugging and replugging in the headphones, and then subsequently trying to change the mute status using pavucontrol: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/C4njC7kCCw/

after I had restarted pipewire: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/ZpFGT2SmKS/
