No audio until mute/unmute

Version, Distribution, Desktop Environment:

  • pipewire 1:0.3.24-1
  • Arch Linux
  • i3-wm 4.19.2-1

Description of Problem:

I don't get any audio after booting my system, I tried different programs (mpv, pw-play, speaker-test, etc). They all show as playing the audio but no sound comes from my speakers, until I mute and unmute with alsamixer.

The same problem can be reproduced when toggling the card "Off" and back to the card in pavucontrol (Configuration -> Profile -> Switch to Off -> Switch back to the card).

Then that would produce no audio with e.g. mpv/pw-play until doing a mute/unmute in alsamixer or pavucontrol.

How Reproducible:

Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. reboot your system or switch your card to Off and back to the card in pavucontrol.
  2. attempt to play some audio with pw-play or mpv.
  3. notice that no audio comes from your speaker, try mute/unmute to fix it.

Actual Results:

No audio comes from my speakers until mute/unmute.

Expected Results:

Audio works all the time, without having to resort to workarounds like mute/unmute.

Additional Info Eg. pw-dump > file (As Attachment Please):
