ALSA devices are never closed/suspended after anything has played on them since 99647416
Since commit 99647416, ALSA devices are never closed/suspended after anything has played on them unless you kill the pipewire process. Previously, devices would be closed and accessible to other programms opening the device with the raw ALSA api after the configured session.suspend-timeout-seconds
. To reproduce, just play any audio on a ALSA device with pipewire, stop playback, wait the configured suspend timeout and then either look at pw-top to see that the device is still running and producing events, or try to open the device with the ALSA api.
