Crackling sound especially when scrolling in browsers

Sound suddenly becomes crackling, and that intensifies while scrolling webpages or just moving the cursor across different elements (tried Firefox, Chromium, and Epiphany). When no browsers are open it does it to a lesser extent but it's still there. I haven't been able to find a specific trigger; it starts crackling at random times and never stops until I restart pipewire.

System information:

  • Arch Linux, 5.10.15-arch1-1
  • GNOME 3.38.3
$ pipewire --version
pipewire
Compiled with libpipewire 0.3.21
Linked with libpipewire 0.3.21
$ pacman -Q pipewire
pipewire 1:0.3.21-1
