MIDI support

MIDI playback, with transparent ALSA compatibility, would be very much appreciated. It would allow applications to generate MIDI sounds to be passed on to MIDI playback hardware working out-of-the-box for sandboxed applications.
One such application could be DOSBox, coupled with either MIDI emulators (such as Munt), or cheap USB adapter for 1980's/1990's MIDI and General MIDI hardware.
