No speaker icon on gdm
- Fedora 33
- pipewire 0.3.18
I just replaced pulseaudio with pipewire-pulseaudio using: sudo dnf swap pulseaudio pipewire-pulseaudio --enablerepo=updates-testing --allowerasing
.
After that, I had no sound in my GNOME session (including no speaker icon in the top right system drop down menu) so I did run sudo systemctl --global enable pipewire-pulse.service
and sudo systemctl --global enable pipewire-pulse.socket
and rebooted. After that, I had sound in my GNOME session and the speaker icon in the top right system drop down menu appeared.
However, when in gdm, just before logging into the GNOME session, there is no speaker icon in the top right system drop down menu. When I still used pulseaudio, the icon was there. This probably also means, that I do not have sound in gdm (even though I do not know how to test). Is this intended behavior?
