A/52 B Audio (aka E-AC3) (eac3) Audio Not Working In VLC

Was going through some tv shows and I noticed some of them had no audio and they all just happened to have the same codec A/52 B Audio (aka E-AC3) (eac3) while all the files with MPEG AAC work fine. Even had to check the files with my phone to make sure they have sound and they do.

After rebooting now the files play distorted clicking noises. Sigh.

Can anyone reproduce this?
