Update to 0.3.58-1 appears to break audio interface (Scarlett 4i4 & Axe-Fx II XL+)
- PipeWire version (
pipewire --version
): 0.3.58 - Distribution and distribution version (
PRETTY_NAME
from/etc/os-release
): Arch Linux - Desktop Environment: DWM (Also tried Gnome)
- Kernel version (
uname -r
): 5.19.9-arch1-1
Description of Problem:
After updating from 0.3.57 to 0.3.58-1, audio interfaces no longer show up in JACK, qjackctl, etc. as both an input and output source at the same time. On the previous version, opening pavucontrol > Configuration, the Scarlett interface would show an option along the lines of analog input device + multioutput by default. After updating to 0.3.58-1, the only options I have are Analog Surround 4.0 Output, Analog Surround 5.1 Input, Analog Surround 4.1 Input, Analog Surround 2.1 Input, Analog Surround 5.0 Input, Pro Audio, Off.
When 4.0 Output is selected, the device only functions as an output device and the inputs do not show up in qjackctl, Reaper, Discord, etc. When the Input options are selected, the Inputs appear to work in those programs, but I get no audio out. When Pro Audio is selected, nothing appears to work.
I also see very similar behavior from my Axe-Fx II XL+ guitar interface though I don't know what options it showed previously. I do know that it was working as expected prior to the update.
Downgrading using cached packages and restarting does not appear to revert the configuration.
How Reproducible:
Also tried in a fresh Arch install on a VM and produced the same behavior.
Steps to Reproduce:
- sudo pacman -Syu
- Reboot
