Cannot connect more than one hardware source
I am not sure where to even start tracing this error so all advice would be welcomed as to how to log and report properly. Hardware: Behringer UMC404HD USB audio interface Hardware: Generic USB3 - HDMI capture adaptor (although this error occurs with other hardware devices too) System: Arch Linux X86_64 Software: Pipewire 0.3.52
The problem: When I connect up sources to an output (e.g. HDMI capture audio) all other sources stop playing and appear to be continually trying to reconnect. I have tried many sound sources internally such as firefox, clementine, vlc, system sounds and many more. As soon as I disconnect the hardware source the other streams resume (occasionally I need to restart one or two but this seems pretty random). The problem occurs whether I connect to the same output ports or other ones (there are 4 outs), whether directly or via other paths such as non-mixer.
This is a big problem for my main use which is streaming. When I stream I want to play back the sound from a console or gaming PC connected to an HDMI switch which then sends to a monitor and my capture device. I have no video issues but to get any sound from this set up I need to physically connect the analogue output from the HDMI switch to an input on the UMC404HD. This seems to be the only source I can use other than internally generated ones without the sound system reacting as mentioned above.
The workaround is not a terrible one but converting digital to analogue then back to digital can cause sound issues in itself and is obviously an issue for sound quality.
Thank you for any help you can offer.
