channelmix.mix-lfe should probably be enabled by default

  • PipeWire version (pipewire --version): 0.3.51
  • Distribution and distribution version (PRETTY_NAME from /etc/os-release): Arch Linux
  • Desktop Environment: GNOME

Description of Problem:

It seems that current policy of pipewire default settings is to allow user to hear all sounds played by applications. For this channelmix.mix-lfe should be enabled by default.

Also config examples are inconsistent about is it enabled or disabled by default.

How Reproducible:

Reproducible on a system with stereo audio output.

Go to https://www2.iis.fraunhofer.de/AAC/multichannel.html Try to play Original Wave File. Firefox uses internal mixer and LFE is clearly audible. If you use Chromium or download file and play it with pw-play/paplay LFE is muted.
