Massive memory leak after logging in
I'm not really a developer so please forgive me if this issue is not of very high quality.
Problem: When I log into my Arch Linux system with i3wm as my desktop and pulseaudio as the thing that makes sound work, I can see a process called pipewire-media
that uses an unusually high amount of CPU and rapidly swallows more and more memory. I can't get any audio to work at this stage, but videos in VLC media player still work (without sound). When the process has swallowed all available RAM it continues to eat through all my swap, making the system entirely unusable. The only way to recover the system at this point is manually triggering the Linux OOM killer by pressing Alt+SysRq+f, which will kill the pipewire-media
process. The system becomes usable again and sound and video will work as expected.
I have pipewire 0.3.1 installed on my system (probably as dependency of some other tools, I have no idea). I don't know what logs or dumps or whatever you need. The first time I experienced this issue was on 2020-03-11, which is a few days after this package was updated to 0.3.1 in the Arch repos, so it might be a regression. If you need more info feel free to ask and I'll try to provide it to you
