Description of Problem:
Hello,
I occasionally get short audio dropouts when I connect my headphones to the front panel. I could observe the accompanying messages with journalctl --follow:
ACPI group/action undefined: jack/headphone / HEADPHONE
gsd-media-keys: Unable to get default sink
ACPI group/action undefined: jack/microphone / MICROPHONE
ACPI group/action undefined: jack/headphone / HEADPHONE
ACPI group/action undefined: jack/microphone / MICROPHONE
gsd-media-keys: Unable to get default sink
There are no audio dropouts on my Windows 10 dual-boot partition. On Linux, the audio dropouts started after an update, but I could also see the ACPI events mentioned above before the update, but they did not cause audio dropouts. Therefore I think the gsd-media-keys event is the trigger for the dropouts.
It is possible that my front panel is faulty but my headphone cord is too short for the rear lineout. I don't know why it does not happen under Windows but maybe Windows is more tolerant in this case. Is there a way to get more tolerance on Linux or disable an corresponding option to prevent audio dropouts?
