Help me help you get analog 7.1 headphones/speakers work correctly.

Hello, after a few months researching i figured i should head here to create a final solution.

To describe my issues:

  • playing movie VLC with surround tracks audio seems faded to the right.
  • using plasma-pa to test speakers there is no output from subwoofer-drivers when i click the test subwoofer-gui-button.
  • playing audio from spotify after a reboot, volume is low until i open plasma-pa

i have a razer tiamat 7.1 analog headset. (not virtual surround) an alc1220 sound-card (internal on an Asrock x570 extreme4 motherboard) i had to hdajackretask to enable the extra output to get side channels.
