Description of Problem:

When selecting HSP/HFP profile no sound is heard from the earbuds.

pipewire-media-session reports:

[E][64295.243775][backend-native.c: 1098 sco_do_connect()] native: connect(): Connection timed out
[E][64295.243858][  audioadapter.c:  584 impl_node_send_command()] audioadapter 0x55ed5568c598: can't send command: Operation not permitted
[E][64295.243889][     impl-node.c:  350 node_update_state()] (bluez_output.00_00_AB_CF_51_7E.headset-head-unit-20) suspended -> error (Start error: Operation not permitted)

I have a similar setup on another computer that is working though I can't seem to find the issue.

How Reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Connect earbuds
  2. Switch profile with system settings or with pactl set-card-profile bluez_card.00_00_AB_CF_51_7E headset-head-unit
  3. Play test sound

Actual Results:

No sound

A2DP works fine

Expected Results:

Sound
