Pipewire stuck on sampling rate
Dear All, The following potential issue occurs on a default Fedora 34 system with pipewire updated to the latest version in repositories (0.3.34). Pipewire uses the default configuration with the following change change (obtained by copying the configuration file to /etc/pipewire) default.clock.allowed-rates = [ 44100,48000,96000,192000 ]
The sampling rates intend to enable the rates supported by the (primary) soundcard
grep -rH rates /proc/asound/ | cut -d : -f 2- | sort -u rates [0x0]: rates [0x40]: 48000 rates [0x560]: 44100 48000 96000 192000 rates [0x7f0]: 32000 44100 48000 88200 96000 176400 192000
The system runs fine, sampling rates change, there are no xruns and pw-top returns
However, after some time of (apparently random) computer use, pipewire gets stuck on the lowest frequency (44100)
The problem is solved by systemctl --user restart pipewire
In rare cases, a music player, e.g. quod libet, cannot connect to the jack interface anymore after restart. In this case, a reboot is required.
