JACK MIDI Bridge: Hardware to hardware connections don't work
Version, Distribution, Desktop Environment: pipewire 0.3.34-1, Debian Sid, (Gnome or KDE doesn't matter)
Description of Problem: Direct hardware to hardware connections over JACK MIDI Bridge don't work. While I can connect e.g. my MIDI keyboard to a hardware synth no MIDI messages will be received on the synth side. If I connect the MIDI keyboard to a softsynth, though, it does work without issues.
How Reproducible:
Every time.
Steps to Reproduce:
Plug e.g. a MIDI keyboard into the computer (direct USB or USB-MIDI adaptor). Both devices will show up in qjackctl or Catia under the Midi-Bridge node. Connect the keyboard's MIDI output to the synth's MIDI input. Try to play the synth from the MIDI keyboard.
Actual Results:
The synth won't receive any MIDI messages from the keyboard.
Expected Results:
The synth should receive MIDI messages from the MIDI keyboard.
Maybe noteworthy:
This is an issue I have on all of my Debian machines. On my Fedora machine, though, the issue does not exist AFAICT. On that Fedora machine the MIDI devices won't be listed under the Midi-Bridge node in qjackctl/JACK_MIDI but as first level nodes, i.e. there's no mention of "Midi-Bridge" there. I could not find any configuration differences between the Debian and Fedora machines, though.
