Plantronics BT600 volume change stutters and fails to autoswitch to headset when inserting dongle
If you are filing this issue with a regular release please try master as it might already be fixed. Also test with PulseAudio because if it doesn't work there it's not going to here either.
Bluetooth Radio, Bluetooth Headset, Desktop Environment, Distribution, Version (Bluez, Kernel, and PipeWire):
Description of Problem: When plugging BT600 dongle into USB port, audio does not auto switch to BT headset. Manually setting system to use BT600 headset enables sound via the headset, but volume changes produces stutter and static and sometimes get "stuck in loop" and refuse to change volume entirely.
How Reproducible: Every time the the dongle is unplugged, manual volume out reassignment is required. (Works fine with pipewire disabled).
Steps to Reproduce:
- Plug in BT600 dongle
- Manually switch to BT600 audio in audio settings
- Unplug and replug dongle
- Repeat step 2.
Actual Results: Audio works when manually changed in system audio control. But changes volume crackles, stutters and sometimes fails when holding down the volume change buttons.
Expected Results: Audio should automatically switch to BT600 when plugged in and volume changes should be smooth with no crackling.
