microphone of usb headset not working within html5 webex session when explicitly selected
Version, Distribution, Desktop Environment:
$ pipewire --version pipewire Compiled with libpipewire 0.3.27 Linked with libpipewire 0.3.27
- Exherbo Linux
- KDE Plasma
- Google Chrome: Version 90.0.4430.93 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)
- Mozilla Firefox: 88.0 (64-Bit)
Description of Problem:
When joining a Webex conference HTML5 via plain Browser (Google Crome) and selecting the the usb headset as dedicated microphone it doesn't work, or rather stops working after a second.
What works though is just using the "Standard" as microphone which seems to give the headset priority over the webcam and works.
What also works is selecting the usb webcam as dedicated microphone, the issue doesn't appear there, only with the usb headset.
What also works is doing it within Firefox, no problems there.
In the KDE Plasma sound applet one can see the amplitudes when speaking into the microphone and it works well, just nothing is transmitted in the Webex Chrome session.
The journal doesn't list anything obvious:
$ journalctl --user-unit=pipewire --user-unit=pipewire-media-session --user-unit=pipewire-pulse -f -- Journal begins at Thu 2021-05-06 10:42:53 CEST. -- Mai 06 12:02:08 exherbo systemd: Started Multimedia Service. Mai 06 12:02:08 exherbo systemd: Started Multimedia Service Session Manager. Mai 06 12:02:08 exherbo systemd: Started PipeWire PulseAudio.
Join a Webex HTML5 conference with Google Chrome, select the usb headset as dedicated microphone and experience the problem immediately.
Microphone doesn't work within the Webex conference in Google Chrome when explicitly selected.
Have the microphone working just like with Pulseaudio and/or within Firefox.
Additional Info Eg.
pw-dump -N > file (As Attachment Please):
Attached are two dumps, one where things fail with the headset explicitly selected and the second one after switching to "Standard" where things work, see Screenhot above.
