Distortion audible in the background with Youtube videos on Scarlett 2i4.

If you are filing this issue with a regular release please try master as it might already be fixed.

Version, Distribution, Desktop Environment:

pipewire-0.3.26-4.fc34.x86_64, Fedora 34, Gnome Shell

Description of Problem:

In some youtube videos, especially with some passages of classical music, there is audible distortion of the signal in the background which sounds pretty disturbing. I believe that it is especially terrible with quieter passages with some natural reverb, I am not able to notice it on louder passages, because the foreground music covers this. I have added a recording that could help you to identify, what I mean, because it is clear to me that this is something I could hardly measure. However, with 0.3.24 an 0.3.25, I did not have any such issues. I also tried listening to the same video on my iPad and there it was playing nicely and without any bad sounding artefacts.

I am using a USB Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 on 48000.

How Reproducible:

Always with this version.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. This is the video I noticed it in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMLSwqAOzHo&t=223s. Especially in the first part when the oboe starts playing, it sounds like quiet distorted rambling (like timpani or something, but poorly recorded timpani) which I do not think is the case as it is a professional recording.
  2. I am also attaching a recording of the Firefox signal that I routed back into the system and captured.

Actual Results:

Audible distortion in some pieces of music.

Expected Results:

No such distortion present.

Additional Info Eg. pw-dump -N > file (As Attachment Please):
