Broken sound since 5cddd61c
I apologize for the poor title but I'm unable to pinpoint any information related to this problem for a title. :(
Version, Distribution, Desktop Environment
- Version >=0.3.25 (Including the latest 0.3.26 as well as tip of
- Arch Linux
Description of Problem
I bisected pipewire to locate that since 5cddd61c audio has been completely broken for my laptop (Intel Corporation CM238 HD Audio Controller)
I followed the "installing" section of the readme and bisected after running
systemctl --user disable --now pipewire[...]:
rm -rf builddir meson setup builddir meson configure builddir meson configure builddir -Dprefix=/usr -Dudevrulesdir=/usr/lib/udev/rules.d # I copied the udevrulesdir from arch's PKGBUILD just in case. ninja -C builddir ./pw-uninstalled.sh cd builddir PIPEWIRE_DEBUG=4 make run &> /tmp/pw.log
Sound is always broken but it's a toss-up on whether it will initially play and then break when adjusting volume or if it's just broken to begin with.
Steps to Reproduce
- Compile 5cddd61c and run using
- Play an audio file with
Depending on your luck of the draw, either
- Observe no audio output at all (but audio is visualized in pavucontrol)
- Observe audio outputting correctly until adjusting audio (then all audio stops permanently).
5cddd61c^ works as expected following steps 1 and 2.
I've attached a
pw-dump but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly since it's reporting as 0.3.24. I attempted to get the information via
make shell && ./src/tools/pw-dump -N > pw-dump.json. Please tell me if I'm doing that wrong...
I've also attached log output for both of the commits. In the 5cddd61c log output I had sound at first and then lost it the moment I changed volume.
