MDM9600 MDM9610 (USB 05c6:6000) based modems (as Gobi 2k)
Hi there. I have NONAME modem it works with Windows XP, but doesn't work well with Linux. It are many people who purchased them. It was reported it worked with older versions of Linux (I have latest Ubuntu). The problem actually comes when it is switched after USBModeSwitch completes its job it happens something and it reboots. After it again detects as inserted and switches mode and again reboots and it happens endless. If 'kill' 'ModemManager' problems disappears. And all four device files /dev/ttyUSB? are working well particularly with 'minicom'. Just sometimes it hangs USB-hub (the modem itself uses separate USB slot apart of USB hub). It may be the problem has the same reason as when under OpenWRT it does not want to start connection, automatically just in LuCI it report about no device file, when device file itself works. After changing device file for another, connection may start. However it may be just another problem.
Occasionally, this modem works as WiFi access point, and it is the only way to connect it in automatic mode. With its http://192.168.1.100 it report Qualcomm with copyright dated 2014 and it seams no upgrades of software available.
So is it a problem of ModemManager, the fact it reboots and stops after 'sudo killall ModemManger'?
