Huawei ME936: AT control port for both GPS control and GPS data
Is it tenable to use the control port for both GPS and AT configuration? Flagging the port as a GPS port does not work.
Trying to get Huawei ME936 working in MBIM mode with GPS support. MBIM just feels more stable on the data network.
GPS works when the modem is used with the option driver.
| drivers: option | plugin: Huawei | primary port: ttyUSB2 | ports: ttyUSB0 (at), ttyUSB2 (at), ttyUSB3 (gps)
On MBIM, there's only one control AT port and that port actually reports NMEA sentences if a session was running (in debug mode).
| drivers: cdc_mbim, option | plugin: Huawei | primary port: cdc-wdm0 | ports: ttyUSB0 (at), cdc-wdm0 (mbim), wwan0 (net)
The option driver is particularly finicky with modem manager with:
- Some APNS failing to connect
- CGEV issues
