2G connection speed with Alcatel X602D using latest ModemManager git master

I attach a log from a connection with my modem, a broadband Alcatel USB stick.

I can see the modem is connected indeed, just it's slow and the log reports the connection mode is changed from gsm to edge, while both the modem and the SIM are able to set UMTS (3g) - the hardware supports download speed up to 21 Mbps. Finally, once connected, I'm able to surf the web using a 12 (almost) kBps connection.

What config shall I fix to get 3g speed connection ?
