[Resolved] Mesa 20.0.0 Conflict with Intel Display Drivers (Iris)
After upgrading from 19.3.3 to 20.0.0 I get serious artifacts and green pixel blocks on my wallpaper and while using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (current daily image). This appears to be tied to the change
Create a way to prefer iris vs i965 via driconf
I believe the change from i965 default behavior to defaulting to iris has caused this banding to occur.
I have a Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 (SKL GT2) The current build of Ubuntu with all the latest updates. A 20-intel.conf file with the following config in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/: Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" EndSection
When Option AccelMethod "uxa" is applied this bug appears to be cured.
This bug with artifacts occurs when Ubuntu Base drivers are upgrading Mesa from 19.3.3-1 to 20.0.0-1.

[Resolution update 29.02.2020
It appears my hardware was trying to use iris with DRI2 on SNA. This is a result of DRI3 not being used. I explicitly added DRI3 to the intel conf and it fixed all issues. Image below
